Our next meeting: will be on Tuesday, March 8, 6:00 pm at the North Palm Beach Library. We are always looking for New Members, so, bring along a friend or two! This will also serve as our Annual meeting for purposes of fulfilling our corporate obligations under Florida law, so we will vote on the new slate of board members and to approve an updated set of By Laws, which were mailed to you earlier this week.
IMAGES FOR THE March 8 CLUB MEETING.
Our monthly theme for March is MEMBER’S CHOICE. All members can submit up to five or six (5 – 6) images for the slide show we present at each meeting (thank you, Jeff!). We will be posting our slide show on a regular basis, after each Club Meeting, on our Lighthouse Camera Club Website and our Facebook page. Please send your images to Jeff Ornstein or Steve daPonte (he will forward to Jeff) at 72 dpi, with the long side at 1200 pixels (same as always); DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING is 8:00 p.m. Sunday night, March 6 .
PRESENTATION: We plan to have a presentation at our March 8 meeting by Steve DaPonte, about how he does layering with photo software and other more basic adjustments one can make with more popular software applications. He will also talk about how to resize your photos for various purposes.
VIDEOS: We also will show videos of the Member’s Choice photos, alter image and critiques, and the video with our Zoo pictures. This will be a fun presentation, as always! For those who think ahead – our monthly theme for APRIL will be Faces / Expressions (human or other).
QUESTIONS ANSWERED: We will provide some time to answer questions on your Camera, Lenses, composition and Post Processing at the this meeting, so bring your questions and your suggestions for other presentations from our group of experienced photographers and other local experts. Please, for your safety, with the increase in Covid we ask you to wear masks at our meeting if you feel more comfortable!
- SLIDE SHOWS. We enjoy an interesting slide show, if you have one to share. Should you need assistance in preparing your photographs to create a slide show, we can show you how it is done.

March 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. a visit to Busch Wildlife Center hosted by falconer Dan Frankian on his use of birds of prey, how he trains them to remove unwanted birds and animals from various locations such as airports, and his use of trained animals for photography. See, www.Hawkeye.ca. This will be an opportunity to photograph these beautiful birds (a hawk, an owl, and others) at close distance and no cages. We realize this is short notice, so please email back if you plan to attend. We have space for 25 photographers.
March 23, 2022 Linda Brinckerhoff Workshop on Portraits. This is a hands-on workshop focusing on PORTRAITS. We will have stations set up and Models. Bring your Cameras and tripods! We have a list of those who committed to come at the January meeting; if this change in date for March affects you one way or another, please let Jeff and Dina know.

The April Meeting of the Club will be on Tuesday, April 12. Photos will be due on Sunday, April 10.
April 12, 2022 – Our Club Meeting and presentation by Florida ornithologist Dr. Mark Cook about the birds we like to photograph at Green Cay and Wakodahatchee.
April, 2022 (TBD) – Visit to Wakodahatchee to view and photograph new baby birds and other wildlife of interest.
April 20, 2022 – (tentative) workshop on basic Still Life photography with Sandra Effertz or an alternative to be determined.
April, 2022 (tbd) – Visit to Wakodahatchee to view and photograph new baby birds and other wildlife of interest.
May, 2022. (tbd) At our May meeting, we hope to have Bill LaFlamme talk to us about how to take Sunrise and evening/sunset photos. Later, we will schedule a morning trip to Bethesda by the Sea church and the Palm Beach Lake Trail for photographs.
June, 2022 (tbd) A Sunset trip to the Four Arts Museum/Sculpture Garden for sunset photos followed by dinner together for those who are interested at Duffy’s.
If you know of a Photo Shoot or are planning a Photo Outing, please let me know and I will forward to the Club Members and you might get some company again, all very informal.
