After riding around for a whole 2-minutes we came upon 20-30 Roseate Spoonbills. The rest of the trail was just as good!

We ate lunch at the Dixie Crossroads and it was fantastic!

We are looking forward to another fantastic trip up there in March and already made our reservations.

FYI – Wakodahatchee and Green Cay

Hi LCC Members,

Last Sunday Bill Clifton was at wakodahatchee wetlands here is his report ” Not a lot going on Mostly Cormorants & Great Blues building nests”.

A few of the images Bill shot.

On Saturday I was down at Green Cay Wetlands quite a few Spoonbills, Egrets etc. and I also heard that there are Bobcats with kittens that have been showing up on a regular basis.

Here are a few of my photos from that day.

FYI Cool Weather Colorful Sky

Hi LCC Members,

With the cooler weather upon us now is the perfect time to head over to the Coral Cove Park area. The best time is early morning just before and just after a cold front moves in.

The sky is typically filled with clouds, pastel colors of pink, blue, orange and yellow while the sun is still below or just above the horizon line. The tide should be low or falling.

Here is a photo I shot last Sunday.

LCC Holiday Party

Hello LCC members,

The holiday meeting was a packed house with  about 70 members in attendance. We had great food and a sideshow presentation by Jeff Ornstein of photos from his Yellow Stone trip.

A big thank you to Charles Gilbert, Walter Schoellnast and the LCC board members that helped put the party together.

Pine Jog Exhibit Refresh Complete!

Today about 15 of our members refreshed our exhibit at the Pine Jog Environmental Center. The club refreshes the exhibit on a regular basis and all members are encouraged to participate. If you were unable to make it down there today and would like to add your images please talk with Jeff at a club meeting to schedule a time.

Currently there are approximately 43 images on display.

Along The Trail

Sometimes there are interesting places that are in the middle of your neighborhood or maybe right in your own backyard.

This little park I found between the Library and the Post Office is for the most part left to fend for itself. A carpet of pine needles blankets the ground and pinecones are left to fall where they may. That is what I like most about this place as most everything else around here is manicured to perfection. But, is not the way of nature in and of itself perfection enough?

The fern-lined path on a cool fall day in Florida provides relief from the constant heat and makes for a pleasant walk. I felt thankful that I did not have to continually wipe the sweat from my face as I looked through the viewfinder.

As I walked observing  the nature around me, I slowed down long enough to notice the…
