Club History
The club was formed in the early 1980’s as an active branch of the Lighthouse Galleries in Tequesta, Florida. The goal of the members was to bring visual attention to the many wonders of nature and the world around us.
After several years meeting at the Lighthouse Galleries the camera club decided to branch out on its own. Finding a new meeting location, the Lighthouse Camera Club (LCC) formed a new executive board and elected officers. The LCC has prospered over the years and has maintained a membership of 80 or more active members. The club members participate in many different styles of photography ranging from landscape, macro, portrait, vacation, architecture, people, and special events.
Club Activities
Members of LCC participate in intra-club photo competitions, and also in many local and national contests. The members exhibit their artistic images individually and as a group at a number of public venues.
Some of the club’s exhibits have been at the Jupiter Community Center, Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Eissey Theater and Molly’s House. Club members photograph for the Palm Beach Zoo
Each month there are field trips to wild life preserves, parks and gardens to photograph birds, flowers and wildlife in their natural habitat. There are other activities to participate in within the club, such as the club picnic and a year end holiday dinner.
Come join us, guests are always welcome!
The club membership fee is $30 for an Individual and $50 per year for a Family
Every meeting has a theme of the month to challenge the members as well as classes or guest speakers on how to improve on their photographic abilities. The club also conducts in-depth classes on digital post processing of member’s images.
