Welcome to Photography By Steve daPonte
The world around us is full of images that are dynamic and ever changing with time. Photography captures these little slices of time, moments that pass mostly unoticed and taken for granted in our daily lives. Every photograph a visual story of life and being alive in a glorious world of line, space, color and motion.
PLEASE NOTE:The Library is requesting we all wear masks!
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2021; 6:00 pm at the North Palm Beach Library. We had great guests at the July meeting….As we try to grow the Club back to our pre-pandemic size, we are also looking for New Members, so, bring along a friend or two!
Steve daPonte will be doing another presentation on Perspective and Framing the Image.
Our monthly theme for August is WATER, which is another very plentiful subject and should be fun and easy as we seem to be having lot of water (rain) lately. Please send your images to me or Steve daPonte (he will forward to me) at 72 dpi, with the long side at 1200 pixels (same as always); and I must have them by Sunday night, August 8.

We know the past year was a waste for most of us but from what he heard is a lot of our Members continued their photographic shooting during this time. We would like to put together a slide show of that work and ask the Member to describe their feeling and locations of their images. Again send up to ten (10) images of your choice, at 72 dpi, with the long side at 1200 pixels (same as always); and I must have them by Saturday night, May 8.
We are also looking forward to an outside, fresh air Field Trip. If you have any suggestions please send them along: we have already had some suggestions like Butterfly World, Society of 4 Arts Garden; Palm Beach Gardens Green Market………….
If you have any questions please email me and I will try to answer them.
Stay safe and healthy and have fun with your cameras!
For those of us that went, the PB Zoo field trip in January was amazing! The tiger cubs were out and playful so several of us got some great shots of them interacting with momma and each other before nap time. Jeff just finished putting together the poster we present to the zoo and as always, he did a fantastic job (Thank you Jeff).
Steve has been doing a tremendous job posting and engaging people on our LCC Facebook Page. Thanks to Steve and also Bill L, Bill P, Louis, Nancy and Donna for being the biggest posters sharing photos and articles as well as commenting and supporting others. If you haven’t been sharing on our page please do. There are no political or personal posts, just beautiful photos for everyone to enjoy.
Even though Photography is almost back to normal, I am still running boats for a steady source of income (just in case we ever have a second wave of shut downs) and I’m super busy with my photography business as well. I am very grateful for all this work, but it sure does make it difficult to find time for other things.
I’ve saved the best for last…. GREAT NEWS – we just heard from Zac at the North Palm Beach Library and the meeting room at the library is available to meet again!!!
We have been approved to meet on the second Tuesday of April (4/13 at 6pm). We are however limited to a maximum of 25 people right now so we will need you to RSVP if you are comfortable coming out in public.
We will take the opportunity to catch up and we have a slideshow from our zoo trip to start with. We will need to comply with current safety protocols- (masks and social distancing) and of course if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone that is sick please do not risk exposing anyone attending.
Please reply to either jefforns@comcast.net or seffertzphotography@gmail.com as we have started the RSVP list.
