HI ALL:

OUR NEXT MEETING IS ON TUESDAY, MAY 17, 6:00 AT THE SENIOR CENTER.

 

AT THE MEETING WE WILL SPEND SOME MORE TIME ON ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR CAMERA AND PHOTOGRAPHY IN GENERAL!

We will be discussing how and when and why to use prime lenses (non zoom, single focal length lenses) and macro and close up photography. We will bring some of our prime and macro lenses, close up filters, extension tubes and table top tripods, etc.

PLEASE—bring your cameras  and any lenses you want us to answer questions about.  

Also, feel free to help out our refreshment committee by bringing in a few snacks or goodies to share. We will be talking about this at the meeting.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER WILL BE A RETURN VISIT BY BRUCE BAIN, WHO WILL TALK AND SHOW HIS IMAGES FROM A RECENT TRIP TO TUSCANY!

BRING YOUR CAMERA AGAIN, EVERYONE ENJOYED THE TIME WE SPENT IN MARCH GOING OVER CAMERA QUESTIONS……….SO WE ARE DOING IT AGAIN. WE WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN THE DEPTH OF FIELD (DOF) AND THE MAIN REASON FOR PRIME LENSES!

WE WILL ALSO DO TWO OTHER FAVORITE THINGS……………ALTER THE IMAGE AND CRITIQUING!

WE WILL ALSO DISCUSS SOME UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS.

WE HAVE A FIELD TRIP PLANNED FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 9:00 AM, DOWN TO THE MOUNTS BOTANICAL GARDENS! IT IS THERE ANNUAL SPRING SALE AND ALL THE VENDORS WILL BE THERE WITH ONE HELL OF AN ASSORTMENT OF BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS!!!!! CLOSE-UP PHOTOGRAPHY AT ITS BEST!

ONE IDEA WE NEED TO DISCUSS WOULD BE A TRIP THE BREVARD ZOO IN MELBOURNE…..ONLY A TWO-HOUR RIDE

Lighthouse Camera Club Members,

An image gallery has been created here on our site. So far I have received images from Walter and Carolyn Schoellnast, Marilyn Nordic, Jean Mallows and Ruth Samuels. I know more than six members attended in fact it was a record turnout!

THIS MONTH’S THEME IS MEMBER’S CHOICE; SO PLEASE SEND JEFF 5-10 GREAT IMAGES OF ANYTHING YOU WANT. PLEASE SEND AT 72 dpi WITH THE LONG SIDE AT 1000-1500 PIXELS

AT THIS MEETING WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A MEMBER INVOLVED MEETING. WE HOPE TO SHARE IDEAS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW YOUR DIFFERENT CAMERAS OPERATE AND MAYBE SOME BASIC HINTS ON EASIER AND FASTER WAYS TO ADJUST SETTINGS WHILE TAKING PICTURES!

YOU MUST BRING YOUR CAMERA!!

WE MAY ALSO HAVE SOME TUTORIALS THAT WILL GREATLY HELP IN THE OPERATION OF YOUR CAMERA!

THEY CLUB HAS RECEIVED SOME FANTASTIC GIFT ITEMS FOR OUR 50-50!
